Public ride calendar
Nick’s manually entered ride dates, distances, categories, titles and notes are public. Visitors do not need an account. Donations are handled by the linked fundraiser provider; this site does not collect payment details.
Public Strava widget
The public page includes Nick’s official Strava recent-rides widget. It loads content directly from Strava, whose privacy and cookie policies apply. Strava receives ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, when the widget loads. The feed is separate from the private API connection and does not populate this site’s calendar or challenge totals.
Private Strava connection
Only the signed-in owner can connect Strava and request activities. The app requests read access to activities other than those marked “Only You”. It selects October 2026 Ride, GravelRide and MountainBikeRide activities and displays their title, date, distance and activity link to the owner. Activities are fetched on demand and are not stored in the database, used for public totals, or sent to any AI service.
The Strava athlete identifier and encrypted authorization tokens are stored to maintain the connection. Disconnecting deletes that stored connection and attempts to revoke access on Strava. You can also revoke access in Strava’s connected-app settings. If you revoke there, remove the local connection using the dashboard as well.
Account and hosting
The site stores the owner’s email and a password hash. A secure session cookie supports login and form protection. Hashed IP addresses and attempt counts are retained for up to 24 hours of active use for login protection. HostGator may retain ordinary web-server logs under its hosting policies. There are no advertising or analytics scripts.
Contact and deletion
Contact nickl@envioptics.com for access or deletion requests. The owner can delete manual rides and disconnect Strava from the dashboard. Backup copies must also be removed by the hosting account owner when fulfilling deletion requests.
